Lord of the Labyrinth

Reader's Guide:

1. The heroine is a dazzling sun, adored by everyone. She is powerful, wealthy, gentle without realizing it, and surrounded by a slew of unrequited admirers.

2. There is an official pairing, but the story features all kinds of relationships: friendship, family, and romance.

3. The heroine saves and helps side characters. Everyone who stays by her side loves her to bits, and there are plenty of love rivals competing for her affection.

Yan Wei'an received a popular sci-fi holographic game from a friend. She heard that the true way to beat it was to achieve the hardest ending: world domination.

The game offered enormous freedom and many factions, all fighting for themselves. Players could make allies, assemble a team, and even become a ruler in their own right, depending on their circumstances.

She chose a faction at random and entered the game. The System assigned her a plot of land and gave her plenty of resources and money.

With money and land, Yan Wei'an built a manor on her property and had just started enjoying herself when the System malfunctioned, leaving her unable to exit this world.

Yan Wei'an: “...?”

To find out what had happened and get home, she had no choice but to head out and gather information. Along the way, she recruited tenants and became a happy landlady collecting rent. The tenants, however, seemed to be one more complicated than the next.

A rare child of destiny, a winged sky knight, an aloof elf who had lost their wings, an abandoned sage of time from an old religious order...

Yan Wei'an: None of that matters, as long as you pay your rent on time :)

As more tenants moved in and the residents came from different races, she had to keep expanding her house and preparing separate areas for them. It grew bigger and bigger.

Then one day, Yan Wei'an saw the supreme religious order issue a warning to all the factions:

[Most Dangerous Zone: Wei'an Maze. Owner: King of Hell]

[All faction leaders, take note: This zone is at the highest danger level. Every area is filled with vicious criminals.]

Yan Wei'an looked at the picture. Wasn't that the entrance to her manor? Her home was huge, but it wasn't a maze.

And how had her adorable, kind tenants, who always paid rent on time, become criminals?

Also... who came up with the name King of Hell? Don't just give people random nicknames.

To clear up the misunderstanding, she decided to show off her kind (perhaps?) nature by knocking down everyone who had misunderstood her, then making them lie on the ground and listen to her explanation.

The Dongzhou Continent was divided among countless factions, but the religious order controlled the power and the rules.

Under the order's rule, the other factions were collectively known as the Federation. The newly risen and hard-to-locate [Wei'an Maze] had caught the order's attention.

The owner of the maze, Yan Wei'an, had taken in top-level fugitives and rare mutant species that the order had been monitoring but could not find a way to deal with.

She had also assigned different areas to these mutants and criminals, training and taming them until they obeyed her every command.

This put the religious order's full attention on the [Wei'an Maze]. Whenever they saw the criminals behaving so meekly in front of Yan Wei'an, the order's leaders were chilled to the bone.

The order believed Yan Wei'an might be planning to destroy the current continent, establish a new order, and crown herself its ruler.

So the order issued the highest-level wanted notice for Yan Wei'an. Dealing with her became an urgent matter.

The criminals saw Yan Wei'an as the light of dawn: their guide and their home.

[If the light of dawn should fall, ]

[The world would be plunged into eternal night. The criminals had never wanted to destroy the world.]

[They only wanted to use their world-shattering power to reclaim the light of dawn that belonged to them.]
