The title has nothing to do with the story.
I originally wanted to write a heartwarming story about a group of slightly melodramatic sword spirits and their Saniwa. Whatever it eventually turns into is no longer my responsibility.
A slow burn, dedicated to explaining the various settings based on the Touken Ranbu game through my own imagination, and to depicting as many interactions as possible between the sword warriors and the Saniwa, and among the sword warriors themselves.
Warnings:
1. The Saniwa is Japanese.
This is purely for the setting, to avoid unnecessary explanations.
2. The author knows nothing about Japanese history.
I don't know Japanese, and depicting the sword warriors' growth inevitably involves historical details. Please forgive any mistakes. Let me know so I can make corrections, and mentally replace them with the correct history. I'm very sorry if anything is offensive. Please don't have any expectations of the historical sections, or just consider this an alternate universe with fanon settings.
3. The main storyline will stay as close as possible to the official canon, including derivative works. Proceed with caution if that's not your thing.
4. Slightly otome-oriented, with an All-Saniwa-All tendency, though I don't recommend self-inserting. The sword warriors' relationships with one another are platonic. There is no romance, but there are clearly close bonds. Ship whoever you like, but obvious comments about Tsuki being the top (BL/BG), for example, “Grandpa is so dominant/so much of an A,” “Grandpa tops X,” or “Mikazuki and X are an inseparable couple,” will be deleted. This doesn't include simple praise like “Grandpa is so capable” or “he's so dreamy.”
5. Includes portrayals of characters behaving badly and coming into conflict, which may upset some readers. Basically, they're all good sword spirits. If you're uncomfortable, you can curse at the author or leave, but please don't project it onto your own honmaru.
6. The author is socially anxious and has a terrible track record of finishing stories. I write for my own amusement and don't care about popularity, so I may abandon this at any time. Feel free to interact, updates are casual, and if you happen upon it, it's meant to be.
If anything makes you uncomfortable while reading, you can leave at any time. If you're okay with all that, please continue.
Theme: A story about how an ordinary Saniwa and the sword warriors grow and form bonds in the world of Touken Ranbu.
