The top-ranked Guide saw the antisocial Sentinel she had just “saved” staring at her in silence and thought smugly, Look at how moved he is. He can't even speak. He must be smitten with me~

Day X: Under attack from creatures of another world

The Sentinel looked at the girl gripping his wrist and saving him from danger, confused and wary. “Why did you save me?”

The top-ranked Guide had just escaped death with the “deadweight” Sentinel and hadn't even caught her breath. She snapped, “Why are you asking? I'm your Guide. Do I need a reason to save you? Protecting my Sentinel is my calling, my responsibility, and only natural!”

Day XX: After completing a mission

The antisocial Sentinel stepped through the [door] without expression and calmly gave his mission report. But when he saw the girl walking toward him, he instinctively hid his injured arm behind his back, only belatedly realizing what it felt like to have someone worry about him.

Day XXX: When memories of his past life came to light

For the first time, the Sentinel felt panicked and helpless. He couldn't imagine how the girl would see him after learning about the terrible things he had done in his previous life, so he doubled down on his mistake and locked her in the basement.

Sentinel: “You should never have come near me! I'm not a good person! You should have known this day would come...”

His unfinished words were cut off by a powerful wave of mental energy. The girl's soft, warm palm stroked his cheek.

Guide: “Shh, don't be afraid, darling. I know you've suffered.”

Reader notes:

1. Includes a small amount of rebirth content (only the male lead is reborn).

2. A little adventure story about friendship, which takes up a large part of the story, and love.

3. It's true that the male lead tries to kill the heroine at the drop of a hat early on; it's also true that later he loves her so deeply he's utterly obsessed.
