Vengeful Gu

Chu Ling was once the most noble "peacock" of the Miao frontier. After a sudden fall from grace, he became a male concubine newly taken in by his enemy.

He plotted at every turn, waiting for his chance to make the Marquis of Zhennan pay for his blood debt!

Xiao Qingyue, the Marquis of Zhennan's illegitimate son, was the capital's most notorious wastrel. His only hobby in life was being a nuisance, especially in the courtyard of his nominal "stepmother," Chu Ling.

One day, he drunkenly climbed through the window and toyed with a lock of Chu Ling's hair, inhaling deeply. "Chu Ling, what hair oil are you using? It smells wonderful."

The next day, he pretended to trip and insisted on stumbling into his arms. "Oh, help me up, little stepmother. My legs are weak."

Chu Ling hated this man's feigned foolishness and shameless intimacy. Even more, he hated those teasing, frivolous names, each one reminding him of his disgraceful position.

He endured it again and again. Once his plans were complete, he would bury this pest along with the rest!

He had thought Xiao Qingyue was nothing but a good-for-nothing obsessed with beauty, until that night...

Just as Chu Ling's scheme was nearing completion and his poison worm was about to burrow into his enemy's heart, Xiao Qingyue, who was supposed to have been sent away, suddenly appeared and stopped him.

"Hey, you're killing my father and you didn't even invite me? Little stepmother, that's pretty inconsiderate of you."

It turned out that the prey who had spent every day playing dumb and acting cute was the hunter who had been hiding in plain sight all along.

2. The marquis won't leave the story until much, much later. The main story is about revenge.

3. While the bottom is a concubine, he and the top won't confirm their relationship. The sweet romance between them only begins after revenge is complete.
