Anything mechanical needs repairs and maintenance. Because Jiang Tong's mental power was unusual, he could communicate with any mechanical beast. The method was simple: rub its tail!
His side job soon took off, and he spent his days traveling between cities.
A "netizen" who happened to run into Jiang Tong:

And so, those ferocious mechanical attention-seekers became as well-behaved as pets, catching frisbees, catching bouncy balls...
That same year, news that Outer Region Star's only mechanical beast team had acquired a mechanic spread throughout the Alliance.
"He's only eighteen? Is he really not going to get torn to shreds by the mechanical beasts?"
"He's a commoner from the interstellar world. Has Outer Region Star really given up and decided to throw everything away?"
"I bet Outer Region Star gets knocked out in the first round again! 10,000 Bolla coins!"
But, to everyone's astonishment, Outer Region Star's mechanical beast mechanic didn't seem to care much about the Interstellar Alliance Championship:
While the teams fought tooth and nail, he helped someone look for a lost mechanical beast;
When the teams reached the tournament stage, he spent time in Central Park helping two mechanical beasts fall in love;
When the team made it to the finals, he wore a little dress and helped a mechanical beast recover its memories;
When the team won the championship, he went drinking and became sworn brothers with the owner of a certain mechanical beast!
And rumor had it that his way of communicating with the team's mechanical beasts was... rubbing their tails!!!
