Ke Sai accidentally enters a survival game, and in her very first instance she runs into Falcon, a three-person speedrunning team infamous for making even ghosts tremble.
She has no intention of getting in Falcon's way. She just wants to clear the game as quickly as possible and claim the rewards. For her friend's sake, she decides to take a chance and use her skill.
Her skill lets her turn invisible, with almost no flaws. Just as she thinks she's about to fool everyone, Pei Yi, Falcon's captain, suddenly reaches out of thin air and clamps a hand around her throat with pinpoint accuracy.
"What... are you?"
Ke Sai: "I'm human... but if you don't let go, I'll be a ghost."

Their first clash ends with Pei Yi letting her go. Ke Sai doesn't think much of it, until Falcon keeps showing up in every game afterward, always at just the right time to compete with her for the rewards.
Ke Sai decides she's had enough. While fleeing a monster, she demands, "What exactly is your deal?"
Pei Yi raises an eyebrow. "Isn't it obvious? I'm inviting you to join us."
"Sure, but I want to outrank you."
Pei Yi lifts his eyes. "And your reason?"
The next moment, Ke Sai turns around and brings her knife down, slicing the monster in half.
"Do I need a reason?"
Every game she joins is one she wins.
