I Can Hear the Voices of Plants

Lai Yi is the most good-for-nothing elf in the elven race. He is physically frail and has little magic. His only ability, communicating with plants, is a talent shared by every elf.

One day, he transmigrates to a technologically advanced world and becomes a human orphan named Qi Yuan.

He opens a flower shop and, while tending to the flowers, uses his ability to communicate with plants to solve cases and help people with their problems. Gradually, a legend spreads through H City about a detective with an uncanny gift for solving cases.

They say he is strikingly handsome and astonishingly clever, devoted to tracking down every clue left by criminals. No one who has committed a crime can escape his notice.

They say he is quiet and aloof, and apart from giving the police information about criminals, he never explains his deductions to foolish mortals.

Because he can't keep his story straight, the aloof elf in question: ...That's not me! I didn't do that! Stop making things up! QAQ

With the help of his talent, Lai Yi thrives in this other world, until one day he accidentally loses his symbiotic tree.

By the time Lai Yi finds it, the tree has passed through many hands and ended up on the desk of a business magnate, where it has become his favorite potted plant. Strangely, it seems to be doing quite well.

Du Heng can't get enough of the little sapling. He waters it, weeds around it, and fertilizes it himself, sometimes stroking its tiny leaves and kissing its little buds. Feeling those unfamiliar sensations through his symbiotic tree, Lai Yi is completely overwhelmed.

S-Stop! Let go of that tree!!

Du has a privileged background but suffers from a rare disease, and before getting the sapling, he had been struggling on the brink of death. Seeing that the magnate seems ready to keel over without the tree, Lai Yi can't bring himself to ask for it back.

He plans to cure Du Heng's illness and then take back his symbiotic tree. He doesn't expect that after spending some time together, he will get the tree back, but lose himself in the process.

Lai Yi: (following local customs) I-I have to admit, this is pretty great.
