Six months after graduating from college, Miao Xia was brought back to the capital by her coldhearted biological father, who pressured her into a blind date with Jiang Siheng, the eldest son of the prestigious Jiang family.

She had heard that Jiang Siheng was a refined gentleman, but in poor health and unlikely to live more than a few years. Once he was gone, her debt would be paid off, and she would be free again.

But on the day they were supposed to meet, the man waiting for Miao Xia at the restaurant was Jiang Sihuai, the Jiang family's second son.

He told her the wedding would go ahead, but he would be the groom instead.

He was incredibly handsome and looked so full of life that he seemed sure to live a long time.

Her friend asked if they just talked under the covers, keeping things innocent.

Miao Xia blushed and shook her head. Not once.

Her friend nodded knowingly. "At twenty-three, he's at the peak of his virility."

On their first wedding anniversary, Miao Xia handed Jiang Sihuai the divorce agreement she had signed.

Jiang Sihuai told her to fulfill her wifely duties for the day first.

"And then you'll sign the divorce papers, right?" Miao Xia asked, catching her breath.

Jiang Sihuai lowered his head and sealed her lips with a kiss, showing her through his actions that he would never sign them, not in a million years.

Lin Runjin's calm was terrifying, just as Zhou Zhiyuan's coldness had worn away her love for him over the years.
