Can I Love You Right in the Next Life?

I wear the bracelet you gave me, watching as you hold your lovely bride’s hand and walk step by step toward happiness in the wedding hall.

I close my eyes with a smile and ask myself, could I love you properly in the next life?

Something bright slips from the corner of my eye.

The line on the heart monitor showing my heartbeat goes flat.

I, too, will carry my deep love for you into the next cycle of reincarnation.
