When Yan Zhen was twenty, she starred as the female lead in the film Passion. Her very first scene was an intimate one with the male lead, Huo Qi.
Huo Qi was twenty-five, the young master of a Nordic financial magnate's family. Like Yan Zhen, he was appearing in the film as a favor, and it was his first time acting.
