[Genshin Impact] The Mafia Is Right by My Side

The year I graduated from college, I was lucky enough to get accepted for the job I wanted.

Thinking of the promise I'd made with my childhood friends, I happily knocked on the door next door. But when, as usual, I pushed the door open and barged in, I saw my two childhood friends, who were always smiling and rarely ever gave anyone a cold shoulder, stepping on a black-clad man whose face I couldn't make out, wearing downright villainous expressions.

The sound of the door opening made the blond twins look over at the same time. Their previously icy gazes melted away the moment they saw me.

"I told you we had to finish this quickly. Now Xiao Xi has seen us, haven't they?" The blond girl flicked her wrist, and the gun disappeared into her sleeve. "It's all your fault, big brother!"

The boy she blamed shook his head helplessly. The long braid trailing behind him swayed faintly, glimmering in the light.

"Well, what can you do?" As he spoke, he pressed down even harder with his foot, so the man on the ground couldn't even scream. "Xiao Xi, what do you think I should do?"

I wasn't sure if he meant me or the man on the ground. In any case, he was asking me so casually, as if he were answering a question I'd had about my homework, just like old times.

Suddenly, the employment notice from the law firm in my hand felt scorching hot.

But I couldn't deny that stumbling upon my friends' hidden sides didn't frighten me much. In fact, they seemed even cooler than usual!

Wait, no!

The point is that my seemingly kindhearted childhood friends had joined a criminal syndicate behind my back!

Then take me with you, too!

[Reader's Guide]

1. Set in a parallel world, with a new world built around the characters' backstories from the game.

2. Some characterization will be OOC to fit the setting, so this may not suit readers who only accept the original game's canon.

3. The narration may be in first or third person, undecided. There is definitely no CP, but there are lots of one-sided romantic feelings directed at the reader.

Theme: Feel and embrace every future, no matter how different it may be!
