Crossing South

Modern day - Southern Liang - Two Jin dynasties / Daoist mysticism setting

Born blind, Cui Weisheng was abandoned by his uncaring parents. An old madman from the mountains happened to pass by and took him in.

Fortunately, while working far from home, he met a kind benefactor who paid for his schooling and taught him to read.

The benefactor was ten years older than him and had a pair of beautiful eyes. He loved his benefactor and wanted to stay by their side for the rest of his life. But in the year before graduation, he joined an archaeological excavation of an ancient Jin dynasty tomb and was buried in the boundless wilderness...

When he opened his eyes again, he saw the vast, misty waters of the Southern Dynasties and cicadas singing in an ancient temple.

His benefactor was walking down the stone steps, holding out an umbrella painted with plum blossoms to him in the drizzling rain.

Also known as: "An Unconventional Transmigration," "Guess Who the Master Is," and "A Few Things About My Aloof Guardian"

The story has several arcs set in different dynasties. The romance isn't angsty, though the top's point of view may be a little painful.

There's nothing in this story that needs a warning. It's much sunnier than Wolf in Distress, and returns to pure love.
