This novel will update slowly. The author's main focus is the paid novel next door.
Lottery-style cultivation + sect management, farming and infrastructure development, lighthearted tone, bound together with an AI-romance partner, one couple.
Yan Guichu transmigrated.
He landed in a desolate wasteland, with no one around and nothing to his name, except for a bronze machine that glowed.
The good news: This machine was called the Divine Fortune Machine. Feed it spirit stones, and it produced all sorts of things.
The bad news: The results were random. Life, death, good fortune, or disaster, it was all up to fate.
Yan Guichu: I get it. It's just a lottery machine!
The first draw gave him spirit-fruit seeds, barely enough to eat. The next sent rampaging demonic beasts after him, forcing him to flee in disgrace.
Spirit springs, elixirs, worthless stones, poisonous fog, ferocious beasts, even wandering cultivators who had strayed into this place... All kinds of strange things kept appearing.
To survive in this desperate wasteland, Yan Guichu had no choice but to clear and cultivate the land to secure his food supply, while wielding his sword to kill demonic beasts and avert disaster. Along the way, he even took in a few wandering cultivators with nowhere else to go.
He was only trying to live as best he could, but the sect's territory kept growing, its cultivators kept getting stronger, and more and more guests kept arriving. Just like that, Yan Guichu managed to build a massive sect in the middle of a wasteland where hardly anyone ever went.
The sect opened its doors to the public, offering one thing above all: excellent service, all for spirit stones.
Countless cultivators flocked there, filling the place with noise and bustle.
Wandering cultivators formed long lines for a chance to defy fate. The lucky ones cheered as they escaped with heavenly treasures, while the unlucky ones were surrounded by vicious demons and cursed furiously;
The sect's disciples set up all kinds of stalls, reselling lottery guides, good-luck charms, and fortune-changing formations. Business was booming;
The prodigies and big shots from other sects came to pick fights, but ended up lining up for daily draws, getting hooked on the many services and staying out all night.
Yan Guichu counted the endless stream of spirit stones in his ledger and fell into thought:
I was just trying to build a sect, draw a few lots, and grow some crops. How did I accidentally turn my sect into the cultivation world's number-one viral tourist attraction?
So I have a living lottery machine for a husband! Well, that explains it. What a blast!
No one knew that deep within the Divine Fortune Machine lay a spirit that had been dormant for ten thousand years.
Ten thousand years passed, and countless people came and went.
Some were greedy, some devout, but no one ever truly "saw" him.
Until one day, someone arrived in the wasteland.
That person said, "Why don't you try being a person? Or at least talk to me..."
He heard him.
And so the spirit frozen for ten thousand years gradually grew warm.
At first, he simply watched the other man bustle about, watched him get caught in the rain, chased by demonic beasts, and struggle to stay alive.
Later, he couldn't help raising the odds of the lottery, couldn't help appearing by the man's side, and couldn't help wanting to claim that one-of-a-kind warmth for himself.
That man belonged to him alone.
Reader's guide:
1. Brooding, inhuman top x cheerful, easygoing bottom. The top feels very much like an AI, with a touch of brooding possessiveness.
2. A mutually bonded couple, with no relationship drama. The plot takes center stage.
3. They begin as dream friends (?). They interact in dreams, fall in love there, then meet in person. The top gradually becomes more human, and the couple gets affectionate.
4. This is not serious, orthodox cultivation. It's lighthearted, something fun to read for a bit. Enjoy!
