Ji Hongyao is a third-generation disciple of the Jie Sect. She has a demonic aura, but nobody knows what her true form is.
For no apparent reason, her master, Jinling Shengmu, seals her inside Qingge Mountain for three years. One day, the seal breaks. Ji Hongyao leaves the mountain and returns home, only to find Biyou Palace completely deserted.
Her master, whom she regards as a mother, has been placed on the Investiture of the Gods. Her grandmaster, Tongtian Jiaozhu, has withdrawn into seclusion in despair. Her once lively sect is reduced to a mere handful of people, all of them sobbing as they cling to Hongyao's legs.
To figure out what happened, Hongyao steels herself and kicks down her grandmaster's door.
Tongtian Jiaozhu, peerlessly elegant, aloof and mysterious, with power that reaches to heaven and earth, has left wine jars scattered everywhere. His tall, slender frame is curled into a ball, his black hair loose and his eyes red at the corners. He is...
Silently crying?!
Hongyao is stunned. Grandmaster is so handsome... No, why has our sect ended up in such a terrible state?!
After finally figuring out the ins and outs of the Investiture of the Gods War, Ji Hongyao decides to train hard and stockpile magical treasures, then head to Heaven to demand justice for her master, senior uncles, and uncles!
But who is this fake Doumu Yuanjun, who only looks like her master?
To find the real Jinling Shengmu, Hongyao travels through Heaven and Earth, searching for the scattered primordial spirits of the Jie Sect disciples.
She explores the Sea of Sorrow with Fairy Jiangzhu, and causes a commotion in the Dragon Palace with Sun Wukong...
As she draws closer and closer to the truth behind the Investiture of the Gods, Hongyao's true form gradually emerges, but she is cast into another world!
She helps Loki play tricks on Thor and joins Karna in defying fate...
Upon her return, Ji Hongyao can tear through time and space, making her powerful enough to go toe-to-toe with the Jade Emperor.
At last, the truth behind the Investiture of the Gods is revealed, and all the Jie Sect's primordial spirits return.
The Jade Emperor: I am willing to yield my throne to you, Great One!
Ji Hongyao: I got a little carried away...
Her returned masters, senior uncles, and uncles: Little girl, we hear you're going to be our master's wife?
Ji Hongyao: No...
But someone gently catches her by the wrist.
Tongtian Jiaozhu looks cool and inscrutable, but his ears are slightly red. "As my Dao companion, shouldn't they call you their master's wife?"
The story has been changed to focus on a strong female lead
This follows the original Investiture of the Gods setting and takes place after the Investiture of the Gods is complete. It has little connection to the original story, so you can read it even if you're unfamiliar with it.
The main setting is Investiture of the Gods, with crossovers including but not limited to Dream of the Red Chamber, Journey to the West, the Mahabharata, and Norse mythology. There are original settings for the Land of Illusion in Dream of the Red Chamber and the Journey to the West pilgrimage team...
Cool-on-the-outside, warm-on-the-inside grandmaster x mischievous little demoness
Tongtian Jiaozhu x original female protagonist, a third-generation Jie Sect disciple
There will be tangled grievances and romances between the Chan and Jie Sects, imaginative clashes between Chinese and Western mythologies, and a sweet, lighthearted love story.
The pairing has undergone major revisions. Younger partners will always be my favorite.
Theme: Rise stronger after every setback and never give up
