Cheerful puppy player × sneaky catlike NPC

1.
I'm an NPC in a farming and management game. One day, a player arrived in my village.
I heard players would do anything to raise an NPC's affection for them.
Me: Could you defeat the Demon King?
The player looked at me, and suddenly a light bulb lit up over his head. Whoosh!
(He's the first one to show affection for me! He has me in his heart!)
Me: ?
2.
The player took my quests unusually seriously.
When the old village chief's chickens vanished without a trace, he muttered, "Could the Demon King have stolen them while he was asleep?"
I don't eat chicken.
When a large number of fish suddenly floated belly-up in the river, he said, "This has to be the Demon King's scheme!"
But I do eat fish!
I was beside myself with anger, so I used the Demon King's magic to help him complete both quests. He was happy, and I was satisfied that the Demon King's good name had been defended. The only problem was that this unlucky player was really good at letting his imagination run wild.
I helped him with his quests.
I had no idea what he might think of me.
3.
You can give everyday gifts to raise an NPC's affection.
The player came to ask what I liked. There was nothing I needed, so I made something up on the spot: forget-me-nots.
The next day, two little blue flowers were laid neatly at my front door.
The kid in the east of the village liked pebbles, and the fisherman in the west liked catfish. Every day, without fail, come rain or shine, morning and evening, the player made sure to deliver their affection gifts.
No matter how long it took to gather them.
I was furious.
I didn't say so.
I didn't ask, either. I wouldn't ask. I wasn't interested.
Then one day, I realized that everyone else got just one gift from him, while I got two flowers.
The player said, "That way, your affection meter will be the highest, and you'll always stay at the top of my list."
4.
Later, I remembered something.
It was when the player had just logged into the game. I was curious, so I went to lurk in his livestream and observe him.
The player was a game streamer. While interacting with the chat, he silently repeated my name.
Then he slowly blushed.
*A bedtime read: a gentle slice-of-life, a fairytale-like sweet treat, told in first person.
May you have a lovely dream~

The kid I raised finally said the words: "Seal, release!"
She became a magical girl.
The problem was, the magic card she released was one I'd used before.
Heh. How could an upright and kind person like me possibly tell her that her dad used to be a magical girl (boy)?
*
The first day my daughter learned magic.
She came running over to me, beaming. "Daddy, Daddy, look! I can make a cup fly!"
I calmly took a sip of tea. That's the levitation spell I invented. The magical world is doing well. At least the traditions haven't been lost.
The second day my daughter learned magic.
"Daddy, Daddy, there's a slogan in the magical world," she said, solemnly imitating someone. "'Restore the glory of magic! It's our generation's duty!'"
My hand trembled as I read the newspaper. Why did those little brats still remember the slogan I came up with back when I was going through my chuunibyou phase?
There's no need to pass down embarrassing history like that!
The third day my daughter learned magic.
"I heard there's a public enemy of the entire magical world," she said, looking worried. "He's the 'Genius Inventor' and the 'Evil Rogue Mage.' He once made vital contributions to the magical world, but eventually defected."
"If I ever run into him, I'll make sure to teach him a lesson!" She waved her little fist, full of ambition.
The man who'd once been jokingly called the Genius Inventor and Evil Rogue Mage: ...
Which little brat is spreading lies about me?
Come out here!
The new patriarch of an ancient magical family, and the undisputed leader of the magical world today, tapped his fingers on the table.
"We once had a highly respected elder.
"His merits are too numerous to list... and impossible to erase. He made an indelible contribution to the modernization of the magical world and is unquestionably one of its founders.
"But the betrayal of a close friend dealt him a devastating blow, and he never recovered.
"Your first assignment is to bring this elder out of retirement. Restore the glory of magic! It's our generation's duty!"
The daughter raised her hand. "But how am I supposed to accomplish that?"
The young master gave her a complicated look. "No. By learning magic, you've already accomplished it."
At that instant, with a bang, the door slammed to the floor. A wand pointed at him, bristling with fury. "So you're the brat who made up that story about me defecting, huh?"
Daughter: "Daddy?"
The young master, who had been all dignity and decorum, instantly fell apart. He slid to his knees at the door and clung to the man's leg. "Elder, save me!"
Theme: Someone will always come for you
One swipe to end happily and leave a comment. I am really lucky to find such a good book by accident. At first glance, I thought the copy was a light cookie before going to bed, so I happily clicked on it. The brisk style at the beginning seemed to be what I expected. After all, it only has 200,000 words. Unexpectedly, the author managed to write a small but round story within 200,000 words. I was unexpectedly moved and decided to write this review. The following content may contain minor spoilers. Readers who have not read it are advised to experience the original text first www As a Star O Valley 120h+ player, it's hard not to smile when seeing various neta elements. Together with the author's cold humor, it brings a sense of security of meeting an old friend in a foreign land, which pushed me to continue reading. In fact, the torrent of fate has already hit us at this time, but I am as unaware as the player (laughs), so the reader and the player step into a prepared archive/story that will not be changed. I really like the author's use of perspective and illusion in this book. The player is supposed to be from God's perspective, and the reader is supposed to know everything. Using the first perspective, Lin Xinchi, who seems to be exposed, is able to hide the truth, and the reader is shocked to realize that everything we see is just the tip of the iceberg. Even if the perspective is first person, we still cannot see the complete Lin Xinchi. Just like Lu Xun couldn't see the complete Lin Xinchi, Lin Xinchi couldn't see the complete Lu Xun. So the real pain behind this seemingly beautiful, fairy-tale, cross-dimensional love between the player and the NPC is revealed, starting from a staggered calendar. Lin Xinchi knew everything from the beginning, because the player is a very busy college student. So he rejected many things because he knew the destined ending and everything would eventually leave. I like real, painful, imperfect people with shortcomings, so it's hard not to like Lin Xinchi, even if he is not really a "human". I am also very lucky to see the author write down the pain and struggle of the meta character, so that he does not become a label and meta is not all that pave the way for falling in love. When I read this article, I was actually in a very uncomfortable mood, so much so that I envied Lin Xinchi for a while. Because he is indeed in a ridiculous virtual world, he is indeed just a member of the NPC and the world has no room to save him, so he can give up everything and choose destruction. Players are variables that are destined to exist, just like Lin Xinchi is a variable that must exist for "setting". However, the real world is different. We cannot be sure that we are not NPCs or generated by AI (laughs). We cannot undo things we do wrong, and there are tasks that cannot be avoided and must be done. We cannot use mods to solve problems, and there is no destined player. Godot will neither come nor leave, and he may not be able to find him even in his lifetime. Of course I dare not say that one article can solve this endless painful problem, but maybe one day I will really find out that I am an NPC, right, who knows! Maybe Godot will come with extraterrestrial life one day, and all loneliness will be solved. Who can deny that such a day will not happen! The speculation on some issues is a must-read part of this book, and the various small foreshadowings buried in the plot are also worthy of a second reading. I really like the part where everything is revealed when all the details lead to the same ending. Everything is destined and nothing can be changed. It makes the story feel epic, allowing Lindsay and players to leave a legend in a world not shown in "Town Story". Lindsay forces the reader to admit that this is more than just a game. He is a part of Lin Xinchi's resistance setting, and is the same variable. Perhaps, I guess, he and Lin Xinchi are a pair of control groups, looking for different follow-ups to the ending, giving this story more reality. Even if the fairy tale reveals its truth, it still has a fairy tale ending. Although making an independent game is indeed an unexpected direction (Lin: But it should not limit any possibilities). Meeting in the world where Lu Xun lives seems like a fantasy, but this can be a fairy tale in the first place, so lovers will eventually meet. Finally, I would like to make a wish that I can see the sweet love story of the young couple and let them have a good two chapters of love (laughs)
Finished spreading flowers!! 🎉[Cry loudly][Cry loudly]🎉 Are there any extras? 🥺 It just ended like this and I feel empty... Wuwuwu, the copywriter said it was a cookie, Wuwu... (Wiping away tears)
It's not enough to just convey feelings - but now I feel that being able to convey the emotions of the moment is everything, and no one knows what will happen tomorrow. At first I felt sad when I read the story of Sisyphus, because the destiny cannot be changed. Now I feel a kind of tenacity when I watch Sisyphus push the stone. I guess I have accepted that it cannot be changed and the only thing left is the human attitude. There can still be love in a desperate world, it is the flower in the desert, its beauty is short-lived but will be remembered forever.
After reading it, my mind was very confused and I typed the following content incoherently. What I liked the most was the last part. I feel that the author is a very delicate person. Thank you for bringing such a good work. It seems that there are some very painful things buried under the cute farming fairy tale... I have read many articles, and the love in them is like a raging fire that can pass through all obstacles, but the emotions in this article are restrained and true. The you you see through the screen is not the real you, and the me you see is also what I want you to see. The reality between us is based on falsehood. Lin Xinchi lives in The Truman world, where the absurdity is unexplainable, love is meaningful but useless, and even if Lu Xun is online every day, what next? He is a complete soul trapped in a false world. In endless time and eternal scenes, having free will is more like a punishment, and only destruction is the only thing that can be truly controlled. The background of the world is this. He is fighting against huge meaninglessness. This struggle has lasted for so many years and he has tried so many times. Destroying oneself in nothingness is a kind of courage and romanticism. Trying to stop him is undoubtedly an insult to him. From this point of view, Lu Xun's launch is more like a kind of hospice care (wry smile). He is alive, but his existence reminds Lin of his differences and what he must do. At the same time, I was also thinking, which one is luckier, living in pain and sobriety, or drifting with the flow without self-awareness like those NPCs? Sometimes self-will brings endless pain, but losing it all is a complete denial of existence. The author is very kind, giving him the opportunity to break all this and endless possibilities in the future, and also gives us an answer that living, existence itself, gives you the opportunity to create meaning, whether it is destruction or creation. Let me end with my favorite sentence: People are far freer than they think. All gentlemen encourage each other
One swipe! I originally thought it was an ordinary cookie, but it unexpectedly led to a lot of thinking. This first-person perspective is particularly great! I asked about the things that cannot be pursued, and got another answer ❤️
I have been thinking about it for several days and don't know what to write. Maybe there is nothing I can do to summarize them. This article and these two people have gone through a very difficult and bumpy journey. Fortunately, the two people have found each other, and their lonely souls cling to each other for warmth.
It's a fairy tale. I read it in one go and found out that the warmth is actually very realistic and bitter. It's so sour but so sweet. It's great to meet each other. I couldn't help but shed tears when we had to separate.
[Spread flowers][Spread flowers][Spread flowers] I want to watch a cute side story hh This chapter feels like Xiaolin Xiaolu has just begun. This relationship still has a long, long future [Spread flowers][Spread flowers][Rose][Rose]
Congratulations on the completion! Although the ending is good, the fairy tale is really heavy behind it 🥺 12 years of waiting and 5 years of letters, no matter how easy it is to say it, it is still very hard 🥺 🥺 There will be additional episodes [let me be healthy]
Now it feels like maybe the real story has ended in Chapter 54, or even the first chapter
