Everyone has a fire burning inside them,

but passersby only see the smoke.

Yet there is always someone,

there is always someone who can see that fire,

then come over and stay with me.

I saw his fire in the crowd and hurried over,

afraid that if I was too slow, he would be swallowed up in the dust of time.

I came with my passion, my indifference, my fury, my gentleness,

and my utterly unreasonable faith in love, running until I was out of breath.

Stammering, I asked him, "What's your name?"

And from the moment I asked your name, everything else followed.
