The chosen ones of another world have endured so much pain that their overwhelming emotions have become a chronic affliction of the world, one too deep-rooted to cure.
Aoki Bailin's main job is solving these problems, and his side gig is streaming the sights of another world. His aim is to get his viewers interested in that world, then trick them... er, invite them over for a visit, and have them help carry away the impurities.
It's not so bad, really. Aoki Bailin thinks his life is pretty nice: streaming the customs and scenery of another world every day, and occasionally welcoming viewers willing to come help out.
But the people from that world don't see it that way. They think he's a beautiful, strong, tragic figure.
Aoki Bailin, who thinks of himself as a fun-loving guy: Huh?!
It turns out this is because of the tragic way his viewers leave the world.
Aoki Bailin: I'm not taking the blame for that!
Mini-scene 1:
One day, a viewer says they want to see a scene where Oda Sakunosuke persuades Dazai Osamu to choose a brighter path.
Aoki Bailin: This is a livestream, so how did it turn into an on-demand request? I'm a principled streamer...
Before he can even finish saying "streamer," a gorgeous Carnival gift fills the whole screen.
Aoki Bailin (coughing tactically): How can a principled streamer not spoil his fans?
So Aoki Bailin writes a play overnight, titled Let's Go to the Brighter Side, and specially invites Mr. Dazai and Mr. Oda to star in it.
Livestream chat: Never thought you'd find that way to do it.
Mini-scene 2:
One day, a lucky viewer whose visit is coming to an end decides to follow the example of those who came before and choose a different way to say goodbye.
After weighing all the options, the viewer finally settles, with some reluctance, on a script where an old friend watches their longtime companion live a good life, then leaves with a smile.
So when Aoki Bailin returns from buying crepes, after his "friend" sent him away on the errand, he finds that his viewer has left their body. All that remains is the body, leaning against a bench with a smile, as if asleep.
The optimistic, cheerful, and reckless young man trembles as he holds his "lifelong friend, body edition" close. Even the crepe in his hand falls to the ground.
Livestream chat: Oh no, they actually made it real!
The next second, Aoki Bailin, his face pale, picks up the crepe and says in the livestream, "Darn, I got too into character and dropped my crepe."
"What a waste. It cost me so much!"
"Oh well, a little dirt never hurt anyone."
"So much" means the price of a snack like a crepe.
Livestream chat: You streamer, if only you'd waited until we finished getting emotional!!!
Aoki Bailin: Hehe~
