Jiang Sh shui transmigrated. Other people transmigrated with all kinds of buffs and powerful identities, but she got nothing, except for a father who wasn't very “reliable.”
He brought home a little beggar, claiming he'd found her a husband.
Jiang Sh shui looked the little beggar up and down. Apart from his handsome face, she couldn't see anything special about him. Other fathers would carefully compare several candidates before choosing a son-in-law, but hers was different. He'd picked up a random beggar on the road and decided he could be his daughter's husband, even though the family would have to feed and clothe him.
Jiang Sh shui said, “Dad, is our family so poor that you brought someone home to stimulate economic growth?”
The little beggar said, “I can work.”
Jiang Sh shui looked at his frail body. What kind of work could he do? Stand beside her and cheer her on?
But she'd already brought him home. She couldn't just kick him out, could she? Fine, she'd raise him. Maybe he'd come in handy one day!
Her father might be unreliable, and there was now another mouth to feed, but that actually gave Jiang Sh shui the motivation to make money.
She worked hard to support the family. Then one day, she discovered her father was gone. She searched the villages and towns nearby, but couldn't find him anywhere.
Jiang Sh shui thought, fine, if he's gone, he's gone. At least the little beggar was still there. After living with her for so long, he was becoming more and more pleasing to the eye.
She'd have to earn more money and keep supporting him. If they ended up getting married someday, that wouldn't be so bad. She wouldn't mind supporting him for the rest of his life, either.
Then one day, the little beggar disappeared too. He left without even a note.
Looking around the house, now all alone, Jiang Sh shui sighed again. Fine, fine. No one could be relied on.
She'd just focus on her career.
Just as she was enjoying building her career, her father came back. Then the little beggar came back too.
Jiang Sh shui said, “You couldn't stick with me through hard times, but now you want to share the good times?”
Keep walking. Don't let the door hit you on the way out!
Theme: Keep working hard at life.
In fact, it is good to have a child adopter. I guess there were no child adopters in ancient times.
