As the youngest son of the head of the Yunxiao Sect and the last disciple of Elder Zhaoli, Yu Shi was gifted from a young age. Even Yaoxi Bow, the Yunxiao Sect's treasured weapon and a treasure that never chose a wielder lightly, willingly let him use it.
But one day, something claiming to be the Heavenly Dao suddenly appeared in Yu Shi's mind. It told him he was merely a cannon-fodder supporting character in a cultivation novel, whose protagonist was his senior brother, the second-to-last disciple of Elder Zhaoli.

The thing calling itself the Heavenly Dao said that Yu Shi had taken the place of the senior brother who should have been Elder Zhaoli's last disciple; that he had taken Yaoxi Bow, which should have belonged to the protagonist; and that the story had gone completely off course because of him, with no way to get back on track.
If the story didn't return to its proper course, Yu Shi would be punished by the Heavenly Dao.
Yu Shi: "What a hassle. Just give it to him."
The next day, the divine artifact Yaoxi Bow, which had been thrown out, sheepishly showed up at Yu Shi's door on its own.
Heavenly Dao: "..."
