Gray butterfly vs. golden retriever
Fated love from an unrequited crush, made real by traveling back in time: it's fate, and also a carefully laid plan
-
Now and then, He Miao sees all sorts of random things in front of her, like candy, lemons, desks, and crows.
“...” They're all fake, He Miao decides. She must be hallucinating to some degree. But the psychiatrist tells her to see a different specialist.
He Miao: So seeing crows is a terminal illness?
Doctor: It could be a brain tumor pressing on your optic nerve. You must be under a lot of stress.
That's worse than hallucinating. He Miao leaves the hospital weighed down with worries, and the crow appears again. The System's voice slowly rings in her ear: “This is a story filled with love.”
He Miao: Oh no, my condition's getting worse.
System: “Host can get rid of the brain tumor while pursuing the male lead.” He Miao turns and walks back into the hospital.
*
He Miao asks, “If I love the male lead, who's going to love me?”
The System replies, “If you succeed in your mission, the male lead will love you.”
He Miao asks again, “Can I love myself?”
The System hesitates for a moment. “You can, but the mission remains unchanged.”
Just as the System said, this is a story filled with love. Winning the male lead's love is He Miao's only way to stay alive. So how is she any different from the Little Mermaid?
When the sun rises tomorrow, this illusory love will turn everything into bubbles.
*
He Miao: An NPC's life is one big mistake.
Chen Qi: At least I take care of my health.
Love is a huge deception. Wanting love is like catching a contagious disease.
