I got transported into a full-dive online game, drew the Tyrant Emperor card, and received my character quest: [Your Majesty, the fall of the kingdom is in your hands]
A tyrant emperor should be lost in beauty.
So I started a palace selection show, Number 101.
Every handsome man in the land was invited, from civil officials to military generals. No one was spared.
The aged prime minister, over seventy and past his prime, was finally let off the hook. He earnestly tried to reason with me: “Your Majesty! Not him! He’s the greatest general in our kingdom!”
I gazed solemnly at the beauty who had just entered and understood. “So that’s how it is.”
And so I presented the second trick of a tyrant emperor:
Humiliate the kingdom’s most important officials, make them hate me and loathe me, and finally overthrow me!
I teasingly lifted the general’s chin and said, heedless of the consequences, “A beauty this pleasing to the eye would make a fine guest in my imperial bedchamber!”
I waited for the general to raise an army in revolt, so this tyrant could retire in triumph and clear the game.
The general did indeed push me, though not in the way I meant.
“You! How dare you!” I dragged my heavy body off the imperial bed.
The beautiful general on the bed smiled faintly.
“Your Majesty said I was pleasing to the eye. Did I serve you well?”
