Qiling is a little yellow finch whose goal is to find a kind human who will take him home and raise him.
Qiling flapped his wings and flew high, looking down at the land below, only to see desolation and ruins as far as the eye could reach.
There were no humans, only pollution creatures as tall as mountains, gazing up at him.
The first pollution creature Qiling saw was a pile of bones that could freely rearrange itself, twisting into all sorts of shapes.
The second was a mass of tumors that covered an entire city and bloomed with little white flowers.
The third was a pool of blood that corroded everything.
Then there was the fourth, the fifth...
The pollution creatures with eyes stared at him with their terrifying gazes. Those without eyes still fixed on him with their "eyes": the urge to kill and the hunger to devour.
But he was so small. How could he outrun the pollution creatures? Exhausted and hungry, he could no longer fly and plunged headlong toward the ground, right where the pollution creatures were closing in.
Qiling: Chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp!
(It's over, it's over, it's over, it's over, it's over!)
To his surprise, the ferocious pollution creatures raised him.
The bones twisted themselves into a slide so Qiling could roll around on it as much as he liked.
The tumor's tentacles gathered food and never forgot to bring Qiling a piece of candy.
The pool of blood noticed that Qiling liked being clean and squeezed out fresh water for his bath every day.
The pollution creatures took care of him, while Qiling ate, slept, and played. He couldn't have been happier.

After a meteor shower made the surface uninhabitable, natural disasters and pollution creatures ran rampant. Humanity retreated underground and spent its days gazing up at the darkness.
Then one day, a boy named Qiling arrived at an underground human settlement, carrying strange things belonging to pollution creatures.
The people were extremely wary. But to their surprise, the boy led them out from underground and back to the surface. They called him "God."
The boy vanished as suddenly as he had appeared, and the human alliance went mad searching for him.
The top-level pollution creatures, unable to find the boy, went mad too.
Happy ending.
