A spoiled, haughty, proud prince who's peerless at riding and archery x a scheming Hun king who falls in love at first sight
At their first meeting, the young man rode forward, cracking his whip, carefree and dashing. The braid decorated with a silver hook swayed in the wind as he looked down at the other man. "Who are you, and why do you keep staring at me, Your Highness?"
The Hun prince, disguised as an envoy, spoke frankly. "I've never seen anyone as celestial as Your Highness. I was captivated, which is why I stared."
The young man replied arrogantly, "Then I'll let you have a couple more looks. After all, when you return to that barren grassland, there won't be anything to see."
The Hun royal court split in two over the struggle for the throne, and the Southern Huns, led by the second prince, repeatedly invaded the borders of the Qiang Kingdom.
Xie Langying, the Qiang Kingdom's seventh prince, was peerless at riding and archery. He volunteered to lead the troops into battle, and the Southern Huns were indeed routed.
While pursuing the defeated soldiers, Xie Langying strayed into Northern Hun territory. The two sides clashed, and Helian Rong, the newly enthroned Hun king, immediately recognized the Qiang Kingdom's general as its seventh prince.
Helian Rong charged alone on horseback into the Qiang army, killed his way through with a single blade, hoisted the seventh prince over his shoulder, and rode off.
Xie Langying couldn't break free. His royal upbringing kept him from swearing, but his insults were music to the Hun king's ears.
After capturing the Qiang prince, Helian Rong waved his hand and ordered a feast for the army. He patted the clothes of the man over his shoulder. "Tonight, the seventh prince will be my queen."
