The Fisherman's Lucky Girl

Hua Hua and her family flee to Danzhou. Gazing at the endless sea, she licks her dry, chapped lips.

To escape a life where they never know when their next meal will come, Hua Hua sets her sights on the strongest fisherman around.

The fisherman is hardworking and capable, but unfortunately, he stutters.

No matter. The less a person talks, the better it is to live with them.

"I want to be your wife." Hua Hua steps right in front of him.

Then she discovers that this lousy fisherman is not only a stutterer, but deaf as well.

"I want to be your wife!"

"I want to be your wife!"

The hundred and eighth time she blocks his way, the fisherman finally reacts.

He simply hoists her over his shoulder and carries her home.

Hua Hua is stunned. "What are you doing?"

"Weren't... weren't you going to be my... my wife...?"

Hua Hua perks up. "Then prepare twenty taels of betrothal gifts, fifty jin of tuna, and fifty Dan shrimp!"

The man's gaze grows darker and darker, and Hua Hua loses her nerve.

"If you don't have them... that's... that's fine too..."
