A flirtatious, cocky adventurer who keeps a harem of admirers vs. a quiet, austere wilderness guide who trains eagles
On the second day after arriving in Tibet, Meng Jing spotted a man training an eagle on a cliff. He whistled, his clear call echoing through the valley. His trained eagle soared through the sky, ruling the blue heavens.
Amid the howling wind, he stood in the wilderness, his gaze like a slanting gale, with a presence that could stir up a storm and shake the mountains.
Chewing on a blade of grass, Meng Jing said, "Can it fly any farther? It looks like it really wants to reach the mountain across the way."
The man gazed into the valley, standing silently. "Those green mountains separate it from the place where it was born."
"I knew it." Meng Jing tipped her head back. The wind tousled her long hair as she said softly, "In my next life, I want to be a free bird too, crying out in the wind as I look down on the world."
After speaking, Meng Jing looked at his profile and said, "The old folks say meeting someone is a blessing. Let's be friends. I'm Meng Jing."
The man's expression was unreadable. Squinting into the wind, he said, "Li Chuan."
"Spring breezes can't hold you back, handsome. Don't let a chance pass you by. Let's have a meal sometime."
She hummed the words, her voice scattered by the wind. In the sunlight, her face seemed both beautiful and unreal.
