Temporary marking can also happen in reverse. For example, if an Omega bites an Alpha's gland, they can absorb some of their pheromone energy and no longer fear lower-ranking Alphas. Most Alphas, however, wouldn't want their Omega to do this, because it represents submission.

When an Enigma marks an Alpha, it makes the Alpha dependent on their pheromones. But as long as the Alpha isn't impregnated, this won't cause them to reverse-differentiate into an Omega.
