After ten lifetimes of reincarnation, Shi Liyue was reborn into her first life and became the Third Miss of the Pingyuan Marquis Manor once again.
Shi Liyue: Amitabha. This humble girl eats vegetarian and recites sutras, devoting herself to Buddha. Leave worldly affairs alone and don't bother me. I'm tired.
In private: This hotpot meat really needs to be paired with chive flower sauce, fermented tofu, and chili oil to taste good, don't you think? If nothing's wrong, Amitabha. If something is, I might as well kill her. What a sin.
Suddenly, a matchmaker came to call. "Young Master Yan, the eldest son of the Duke's estate, may be a little too hardy, but he is handsome and exceptionally talented. He would make an excellent husband."
Shi Liyue wiped her mouth. Isn't he that Young Master Yan who died young? If I marry him, I can spend two years waiting him out, then claim widowhood and live the good life at an estate. I'm in!

Ever since Yan Gen began receiving marriage proposals, the first young lady he was matched with came down with a high fever on their wedding night. Fortunately, a holy man enlightened them and saved her life.
The second young lady was struck down for three days. Luckily, a reclusive monk happened to pass by, and she recovered just in time.
The whole capital was abuzz: the monks of Huguo Temple had foretold that Young Master Yan, eldest son of the Duke Dingguo, was fated to bring misfortune to his wives.
Then his stepmother came to see him. "Your mother consulted a holy man. The Third Miss Shi of the Pingyuan Marquis Manor spends her days in the company of Buddha and is blessed with good fortune. She is surely the right match for you."

The capital was rife with intrigue. The Crown Prince's influence was waning, while Noble Consort Han's faction wreaked havoc in court. Yan Gen devoted himself to supporting the Crown Prince, fighting on the front lines and putting down the unrest, while Shi Liyue held down the fort and used her vast wealth to pave her husband's way to survival.
Yan Gen: "My dear, aren't you going to eat vegetarian and pray anymore? Doesn't today's roast leg of lamb taste delicious?"
Shi Liyue rubbed her aching lower back. "Today, I'll shave your head and send you off to a monastery."
One-on-one romance, both leads' first relationship, a sweet, happy-ending story with no angst.

Coming soon in my author collection: From the Start with a Single Pot in the 1980s. Please add it to your favorites!
While staying up late to pack orders during an online shopping festival, Yue Wenzhu, whose sales had exploded, took one wrong step and went back to the 1980s. She found herself in the body of a country girl with the same name.
"I worked hard my whole life and never got to enjoy it. Why bother struggling again in this life? I'll just slack off." That's what Yue Wenzhu thought on her first day, lying on the heated kang. Then, the next day, she went out to work in the fields and got covered in bug bites.
Yue Wenzhu stayed up all night poring over books. Farming was out of the question; getting a proper education was the way to go.
Then an accident at the construction site took out the breadwinners of all three branches of the family! To top it off, a local deadbeat blocked her doorway with a debt note. "Either pay me back, or become my wife."
Looking at her family, old and sick, some crying and others fainting, all waiting for her, the educated one, to come up with a plan, Yue Wenzhu rolled up her sleeves.
Making money? Leave it to me!

At first, people in the village gossiped. "What's the point of educating a girl? She should go out and work early to help support the family. When she's old enough, they can trade her for a bride price and use it to get wives for her brothers."
They watched Yue Wenzhu's snack stand grow and grow until she even rented a storefront in the city, going from a street vendor to a small business owner.
The villagers were jealous. "She's just selling food. Who doesn't know how to cook? I could do that too."
So Yue Wenzhu went south to buy clothes wholesale, and her business thrived all the way to the capital.
Then they got catty again. "What's the use of a capable daughter? Now that she's in the city, she might run off with some man."
But Yue Wenzhu soon showed up with a handsome young man from a distinguished capital family. He was tall and good-looking, and greeted everyone with a cheerful "Uncle" or "Auntie," winning them over at once.
The villagers still wouldn't admit it. "It's not so easy to marry into a rich family. Who knows how badly her in-laws will treat her?"
Yue Wenzhu chuckled. "Auntie, didn't your XX want to go work down south?"
The gossips changed their tune in a flash, showing up with fruit. "Wenzhu, your auntie just has a loose tongue. You must not have had any of the fruit from our own fields since you went to the capital. Here, have some, and take the rest with you when you leave."
Theme: Cherish life and love living.
It's so beautiful, I have a picture in my mind.
