[Evil spirit gong x half-baked exorcist shou]
The owner of the fortune-telling stall at the end of the street, Qi Yu, is as outstanding at fortune-telling as he is handsome.
He's popular, but whenever someone hits on him, he remains expressionless. "Sorry, I'm not interested in people."
Despite what he says, he doesn't actually believe in ghosts or gods.
Until one day, he agrees to look after an antique for someone and discovers that very night...
It seems there's someone else in his home.
Qi Yu silently stares at the shadow in the mirror for a while. Without turning around, he spits out his mouthwash, then slowly crouches down.
Head bowed, arms around his knees, he doesn't move a muscle.
The evil spirit crouches down too, tilts its head, and maliciously blows in his ear. Watching the sleeves of his shirt grow damp, it raises an eyebrow.
"Oh? Scared to tears?"
An exorcist afraid of ghosts? Interesting.
-
Yes, Qi Yu is terrified of ghosts.
From then on, the evil spirit scares him every few days for its own amusement. Worse still, he begins to run into ghosts other than the evil spirit.
With a tendency to burst into tears, he's startled out of his wits every day and lives a fate worse than death.
He studies ghost-related techniques through the night and researches sealing arts to the point of neglecting food and sleep.
But on the day he puts his plan into action, he's easily defeated instead.
The talisman he'd painstakingly developed is broken, and his arms are pinned as he's pressed against the wall, unable to move.
The evil spirit whispers in his ear: "Smile, and I won't scare you."
Qi Yu's chest heaves violently for a moment. Eyes shut tight, he turns his head and bites the evil spirit.
He misses its face, but... bites something else.
Soft and cold.
Then the restraints on him abruptly vanish, along with the evil spirit.
Qi Yu: ? Did I bite its vital point?

Lou Tinglan is a thousand-year-old evil spirit who died unjustly and harbors a deep grudge.
He despises exorcists who claim to act on Heaven's behalf, and dislikes humans who burst into tears as soon as they see him.
He hates the little exorcist who fits both descriptions all the more.
But at some point, he starts to find the other's crying rather amusing. Those eyes brimming with tears are captivatingly beautiful.
And later,
he can't bear to see him cry at all.
