Yinyu hated the gods in the heavens most of all.
They were all sanctimonious hypocrites, claiming that sacrificing a few pawns was only natural for the sake of all living beings.
She found that contemptible.
By chance, while in the mortal realm, Yinyu met the fabled Child of Heaven, the very pawn destined to be cast aside.
The young man rode alone across a bridge, brimming with spirit.
Clad in white, with a long sword in hand, he would cut through every grievance in the world.
A person like him shouldn't become a discarded pawn.
So Yinyu stopped him and pointed him toward a brighter path.
"Have you heard of Qianyu Mountain?"
Leaning against the doorway, Yinyu spoke in a coaxing tone: "There's a goddess in the mountains. Go pay your respects to her..."
"And she'll guarantee you years of peace and a place among the immortals."

Jiang Xianqing feared neither ghosts nor gods.
So when someone told him to go worship some goddess, he dismissed it as nonsense and paid no heed.
Yet for some reason, when he passed Qianyu Mountain, he still went in to pay his respects, praying for his gravely ill mother to recover.
Unexpectedly, ten days later, his mother's health had greatly improved.
Still unconvinced, Jiang Xianqing returned to Qianyu Mountain. "I want to ascend on the spot and rule all six realms!"
After a long silence in the goddess's hall, a tortoise came crashing down onto his head.
Jiang Xianqing: Hah, this is interesting.

Years later, the demon clan invaded.
Jiang Xianqing was pinned inside a magic array, his meridians destroyed and his body covered in wounds. Among the many cultivators watching, not one came to his aid.
In his despair, he thought of the goddess of Qianyu Mountain. If she was still alive and could hear him, could she grant him even the slimmest chance to survive?
Then, in the very next moment, someone came toward him against the light, smiling gently, like a bodhisattva seated on a lotus, saving the world from suffering. "Look, they've all abandoned you."
"But I will save you."
It was a voice Jiang Xianqing knew well.
Only then did he learn the truth.
The goddess of Qianyu Mountain...
was named Yinyu.
