The afternoon mock exam results came out, Cheng Shimian had done poorly and was feeling down as she walked home alone.
Just as tears were about to fall, someone gave her ponytail a gentle tug.
She turned around. Zhao Jingyu was cycling slowly behind her.
"Why are you crying?" the boy asked lazily.
Cheng Shimian wasn't in the mood to banter with him. She insisted, "I'm not crying. I just did badly on the exam and feel a little sad."
"So you did badly. Big deal." Zhao Jingyu rode ahead and stopped, lifting his chin with a bold, carefree air. "Hop on. I'll take you out for a great meal."

One bright, sunny day after the college entrance exams, Cheng Shimian heard the boy's most sincere and passionate confession.
Though her heart kept telling her to accept, she still replied with a bitter ache, "I'm sorry. I don't like you."

"A-as a thank-you for carrying me, I'll secretly tell you a secret." Her voice was soft and sweet, her warm breath falling against his ear. "I-I like Zhao Jingyu."
In the darkness, the man's expression flickered with surprise. Then he gave a quiet scoff. "You say you don't like me, then you say you do. So fickle. Don't I have any pride?"
"I like you so, so much."
Zhao Jingyu said, "Oh."
After a moment, the corners of his lips lifted, and his voice turned low. "What a coincidence. I feel the same way."
