1. Bai Cening got a task from a friend:
"Bai Cening, can you get me a dog by tomorrow? Not one you buy, one you adopt. If you really manage it, I'll give you that Lamborghini you liked last time."
Who knew how long Bai Cening had been eyeing that car? But there was nothing she could do. It was a limited edition, and her thoughtless father had capped her bank card.
Naturally, Bai Cening obediently accepted the task.
She dutifully spent a week staking out places nearby where stray dogs were likely to turn up.
Nothing to show for it.
Bai Cening wasn't exactly a patient person.
She grabbed a big piece of cardboard and wrote:
Taking in dogs. Strays welcome. Dogs nobody wants.
But before Bai Cening could take in some poor little stray, how did she end up taking in Shen Yanfeng?
Shen Yanfeng had absolutely no shame. He came right up to her and said, "Bai Cening, will you take in a little dog like me, who can support himself?"
Bai Cening narrowed her eyes and sized Shen Yanfeng up, then decisively shook her head.
