I posted the first three chapters a long time ago and forgot to change the posting schedule. The entire story is already drafted, but there are still parts I'm not satisfied with. I'll update this one after revising it.
The first time Fu Xiao met Jiang Xu, he couldn't see. He'd been left at home to fend for himself, so Fu Xiao brought him home and pretended he was her doll.
Later, his real family found him, and he regained his sight. A little shadow was always following him around.
The little shadow went from being mute to being a chatterbox, constantly telling everyone about her childhood sweetheart. But they always said that once Jiang Xu fell in love, he wouldn't be her number one best friend anymore.
Fu Xiao would pout and argue, "Then he can just fall in love with me."
Everyone else thought she was joking. Only Jiang Xu knew how persistent Fu Xiao could be when she snuck into his room every day.
And he couldn't bring himself to tell her no.
The two who had always been inseparable went their separate ways after an accident. They met again at Jiang Xu's mother's birthday banquet.
A friend gossiped with Fu Xiao, saying that the young master of the Jiang family was quiet and refined, a real romantic, and that he hadn't dated anyone since breaking up with his first love.
Fu Xiao corrected them. "Neither of them ever dated."
--- Though that summer when Jiang Xu left, they did share countless kisses and embraces.
A childhood-sweethearts story of mutual healing. There is some angst while they're apart, then they get back together.
A slow burn that starts when they're kids.
