Since the dawn of Huaxia, strange ghosts, giant demons, divine axes, and magical spirits have emerged, beginning in the Pre-Qin era. To Huaxia, they were like a dream. Mountains, rivers, lakes, and seas changed with the passage of time. After more than a thousand years, the beings of the primordial world had all but vanished. From the Han, Tang, Wei, and Jin dynasties onward, only strange ghosts and little demons remained. Some played tricks on people, some fell deeply in love, and some plotted to take their lives. Tales of the supernatural spread through the streets and flourished for a time. But the divine lore of China was forgotten, and the Four Great Epics fell into fragments, leaving only scattered stars. Spirits and ghosts vanished, with few left to speak of them.
Today, the ancient sites are brought to light, and scholars labor to restore the epics. We can only create new things and tell new tales.
First Story: The Mirror
The things within the mirror are ancient and mysterious. Everyone they touch loses the chance to pass on, becoming lingering resentment and remnants of thought between heaven and earth. The mirror's curse seeps into the blood of its victims, passing down through the generations and condemning them all to the same fate.
One of Xu Jingchen's ancestors was among the cursed. Fortunately, their family had a wide circle of connections and managed to find a highly skilled shaman in the marketplace. Only through some unknown ritual did the shaman conceal the curse in their blood.
But by Xu Jingchen's generation, the method used to hide the evil had begun to fail. One after another, his relatives died unjustly, until the family genealogy finally revealed the truth: anyone cursed who reached the age of twenty would die a wrongful death!
In the end, Xu Jingchen had no choice but to search for a way to break the curse...
(There is a romance storyline, but it's not about the protagonist~)
Theme: People keep getting entangled with one another and regretting it, but even after they repent, the entanglements continue...
