Yun Ze learned from his parents that Jiang Wan's parents had died in a car accident, and that she would be living with them from then on.
"Make sure you take good care of her. Treat her like your little sister," his mother told him.
Yun Ze said nothing, but his gaze kept drifting to the quiet girl.

Jiang Wan transferred to Yun Ze's school.
She was quiet and sweet, yet blessed with a face that drew everyone's attention. Her arrival on campus caused quite a stir.
A friend who liked Jiang Wan learned that she lived at Yun Ze's house and asked if he could put in a good word for him.
Yun Ze answered without a second thought. "No."
"Why not?"
"Because I'm her brother."
Jiang Wan, who had been waiting to walk home with him, heard those words, and the flutter in her heart sank to the bottom.

One day later on, Yun Ze ran into Jiang Wan and one of her admirers at the mall.
Seeing Yun Ze's dark expression, the admirer asked Jiang Wan awkwardly, "Who is he?"
"My brother," Jiang Wan replied briskly.
Not long after, Yun Ze cornered Jiang Wan against a wall in the stairwell.
Outside the door, her admirer was searching for her.
Yun Ze's eyes were bloodshot, but he kept his voice low and controlled. "Jiang Wan, tell him I'm not your brother."
One-on-one, happy ending.
