The Mysterious Returns: Summoning Players

Before transmigrating, Melina was reading Oliver Twist, so it makes sense that she transmigrated to London, England, in a parallel world and became a tiny orphan cog in the machinery of the Steam Age, right?

She thought the cruel headmistress would send her off to sweep chimneys, but then she awakened a "superpower" during an evil sacrificial ritual and summoned "players" from Blue Star in the name of an unknown evil god.

Melina: I get it! I'm supposed to lead the players in farming and help drive forward the glorious progress of the Industrial Revolution!

The times have changed. Steam technology beats everything. Roaring steel behemoths thunder through the city, and mounted police ride steam motorcycles instead of horses.

Melina: Th-then, shall I go east to spread advanced technology and set off on a grand commercial voyage together?

The seas have changed. Strange and terrifying monsters have cut off the shipping routes. Pirates, treasure, a mysterious empire in the East... Everything is bursting with life and possibility.

Melina: Looks like I'll have to stay in the church and live out my days in peace.

The mysterious has returned, bringing its arcane energy and spiritual qi revival!

Player: Great God, when are we going to conquer the world?

Victorian steampunk + a touch of cosmic horror + mixed esoteric elements.

Theme: The protagonist and people of Earth fight for justice
