I Cry at the Drop of a Hat, but I’ll Still Be an F4 Sidekick

Shen Chu is selected for the annual System competition and becomes someone who transmigrates into a book. His mission: role-play.

His sidekick System tells him that his ultimate goal is to become the most trusted underling of the four F4 heartthrobs at a Mary Sue-style aristocratic academy, willing to risk life and limb for them.

He clenches his fist to show he understands.

Unfortunately, he's a crier.

A frail little underling who tears up at the drop of a hat, looking more like the young master than the big boss. How weird would that be?

Four conquest Systems arrive alongside the sidekick System, one landing on each member of F4, sparkling as they spin around:

[Congratulations, you have been chosen as the destined Host of a conquest System. If you want to survive, make the protagonist, Shen Chu, fall in love with you!]

Everyone thinks they're the only one with a System.

The scheming bunch (smirking coldly, the corners of their mouths twitching): Heh, interesting.

Scene One:

When the school gang surrounds them, the first male lead confidently shields Shen Chu behind him. "Stay back. I've got this."

A hero saving a beauty. This should win him over in no time.

Shen Chu charges forward with a club, fired up. As a proper underling, it would be a disgrace to let his boss go first!

Two seconds later, the barbs on the club scrape his hand, and he backs away with teary eyes.

The first male lead is startled and moves to comfort him, then hears the System announce:

[Shen Chu's affection for you has decreased by 1. Keep it up, Host!]

Scene Two:

On the art stage, the second male lead plays the piano with the grace of a prince, his fingers dancing over the keys, confidence shining in his eyes.

Shen Chu is in charge of setting off the party poppers when the performance ends.

The second male lead plans to make a romantic confession after the perfect performance.

A minute later, Shen Chu, struck by a party popper, curses as he runs off crying.

[Shen Chu's affection for you has decreased by 1. What is wrong with you, Host?!]

Scene Three:

The third male lead angrily smashes something. "I'm done with this! Do you even know how long he cried in front of me just now?"

The System consoles him: [Keep it up! Compared to everyone else, his affection for you is the highest.]

[It's a whole 0!]

Scene Four:

The fourth male lead lies flat on the rooftop, listening to music.

Shen Chu's mission progress has stalled, so he gloomily comes up to the roof to clear his head.

By chance, the two run into each other.

Shen Chu gives him a couple of glances.

The fourth male lead gets an angry System notification:

[You idiot! Get up! Your target's affection for you has dropped by 1 again!]
