The Adorable Little Fragrance of the Palace

Axiang was an orphan. When she was five, her master brought her into the imperial palace, where she became a trainee palace maid. Her main job was helping the pastry chef in the imperial kitchen knead dough.

The inner palace was cruel. The consorts spent their days scheming against one another, while the princes fought to the death behind a facade of harmony. Everyone was anxious, gloomy, and depressed.

That is, until they met little Axiang.

.

Axiang was fair and chubby, sweet and adorable, with a way with words. Every day, she delivered pastries to the various palaces, and her childish remarks were simply too cute to bear.

When the cool, dignified Empress saw the adorable puppy-shaped pastries, she broke into a rare smile.

Ever since the short-tempered Consort Shu tried her pastries, she patiently looked forward to them every day.

The gloomy Third Prince glanced disdainfully at the childish pastries on his plate. "What kind of weird thing is this? How dare they bring it before me?"

After one bite: "Delicious!"

.

Later, people realized that, at some point, the inner palace had become harmonious. Axiang's chubby little figure was busy in every palace.

Wherever she went, the masters of the palaces were always smiling happily.

The Empress and Consort Shu no longer competed with each other, and the princes even sat together to drink tea and eat pastries, eagerly taking turns to teach Axiang how to paint.

Wait... why is he joining in, too?

Prince Yi, who was usually aloof and held military power, had also begun visiting the imperial palace.

And one day, the palace attendants watched in horror as Prince Li carried little Axiang in the crook of his arm and took her butterfly-catching.
