First, a few disclaimers:
1. The setting combines Geats, Detective Conan, Japanese urban legends, and a little Junji Ito.
2. The romance is Ukiyo Ace x Sakurai Keiwa, possibly with a tiny bit of Lion x Tanuki. The Detective Conan cast has no pairings.
3. This isn't a conventional "burn the old relationship to the ground" story. The tanuki shows signs of amnesia and makes a late official appearance. It contains plenty of my own interpretations of the characters, as well as many original background characters and various headcanons.
4. It's a long, slow-burn story focused mainly on the plot.
Other notes:
I'm sure we all know how bad the Geats TV series was. I'm not trying to make excuses for the original, but shipping is another matter (...). I'll make stuff up!
I'm a fan of both the fox and the tanuki. Although the main perspective is marked as the top's, both get roughly equal screen time, and I'll try to be fair to them.
My favorite Kamen Rider is Shotaro from W, so using the detective agency setting here is a personal indulgence. However, no Kamen Riders outside the Geats cast will appear.

Theme: Establishing the right values
After reading this chapter, I suddenly realized that Jinghe's daily life was separated from the competition. The feeling that geats gives me now is that the little raccoon cat has turned into a college student born for the Grand Prix. There is no problem with the character design of Ji Fox. The full-level male protagonist and the second male lead Asasi are absolutely no problem.
