Blurb:

In the spring when she was sixteen, Yan Zhihuan was climbing over a wall when she took a spectacular spill right in front of a strange man.

The man helped her up, gently brushed his fingertips over the scraped skin on her knee, and asked if she was all right.

She looked up and met a pair of cool, clear eyes, dark pupils and long lashes. They were beautiful.

Years later,

In a corner of a banquet hall dappled with shifting light and shadow, the man leans against the wall, his tall figure immaculate. A cigarette rests between the fingers of his right hand, its red ember glowing and fading.

Yan Zhihuan is a little dazed. Her gaze drifts from his face to his prominent Adam's apple, then down his neck.

"Have we met somewhere before?"

His fingertips twitch. He stubs out the cigarette and loosens his tie. Beneath his lowered lashes, his dark eyes lock onto hers.

Then he pins her by the waist and pulls her into his arms, forcefully prying her lips apart as he kisses her fiercely, attacking her inch by inch without the slightest mercy.

Yan Zhihuan feels as if she has melted into a puddle, almost slipping through the gaps between his fingers. In her dizzy haze, she hears him ask:

"Why don't you tell me, then? Have we met somewhere before?"

Yan Zhihuan: Huh? Did she just go back to an old flame?
