Instinctive Dependence

The year Qi Zetao arrived at the Lin residence, the steward patted his shoulder and told him to greet the Madam. Qi Zetao did as he was told.

When he looked up again, beneath the gentle sunlight, a little boy by the bed clung shakily to the railing, blinking his big eyes at him and grinning.

He heard the boy was the young master of the Lin family, named Lin Yuchi.

-

As far back as Lin Yuchi could remember, Qi Zetao had always been by his side, taking care of his every need and answering nearly every call.

Then an accident destroyed the Lin family, leaving Lin Yuchi homeless and adrift.

At his most desperate, Qi Zetao took him away.

Over twelve whole years, childhood friends became lovers. Their lives saw both dramatic ups and downs and the quiet flow of ordinary days.

They both knew there was no going back. They could never be apart again.

"A permanent place at the top of someone's priorities is an instinctive dependence that sinks into your bones."
