Reposting an old story. The following is the preface I wrote back then. Feel free to skip the unnecessary parts.
Ah, I finally wrote down this new idea.
I'm hopeless at coming up with titles, so don't mind the utterly uninspired title that has nothing to do with the story.
This is a whole disaster caused by one picture [dramatic fog].
Believe me, I really just posted a perfectly normal picture in the group chat. Then, in the less than ten minutes I was away, everyone in the group imagined a whole bunch of plotlines.
Anyway, I have no idea how a New Year illustration from the official account somehow got tied to a Western fantasy idea.
So, this is an idea that sounds lovely in theory but turned out to be utterly brutal when I wrote it. Yes, I originally just wanted to try writing in a Western medieval style, but somewhere along the way it became Western fantasy.
Heh, I really shouldn't have read that Western fantasy novel.
Also, don't get your hopes up too much for this story. I think it's a failure [covers face], a failed attempt at imitating a Western style.
Still, I wrote it, so I might as well put it out there and inflict it on everyone.
Pairings: Wang Qiu'er x Dai Huabin, Huo Hao x Wang Qiu'er, Xu Lu x Dai Huabin
ABO setting, Western fantasy style, political marriage trope. Both parties are emotionally unfaithful during their marriage, so the story's values are a little questionable.
Qiu'er has the ancient Dragon God Bloodline, but she's human, not a dragon. Still, she has a dragon's personality and instincts, such as greed, possessiveness, bloodlust, and so on. These traits are shown in the story, though I don't think I did a very good job of portraying them.
There is a magic system, but I haven't read many Western fantasy stories, so I don't know if I got it right. If not, just bear with it. Magic isn't the main focus anyway.
One more thing: the relationship between Huo Hao and Qiu'er caused some controversy before, so let me be clear. Huo Hao and Qiu'er means exactly what it says. When they were together, Huo was on top [so in this pairing, at least, that's how their positions work].
Theme: A few years ago, I brought this out for everyone to take a look at
