Stepbrother

Possessive love | Uncle and nephew turn against each other

Li Fengyi has a stepbrother with an overwhelming desire to possess her.

No one knows that Yan Xingzhi, who appears to outsiders as a refined and noble gentleman, is a complete madman underneath.

She fears his status as the heir to the Duke's estate, dreads his obsession, and loathes his advances.

But she can't escape him. She can only play the part of a loving sister in public, then return to the estate and let him do whatever he wants with her.

Whenever tears stream down her face, Yan Xingzhi wipes them from her cheeks and murmurs soothingly, "If you look at him one more time, I'll kill him next time, all right?"

If Li Fengyi couldn't feel the hand squeezing her throat, she might have thought he was the gentlest man alive.

She lived like this for three years.

She thought she would never escape Yan Xingzhi's grasp, but one day, three years later, the new emperor ordered him to accompany the army on a campaign.

She knew her chance had come.

The new emperor, Zhao Huan, is Yan Xingzhi's nephew. He's only just turned seventeen.

With a little cunning, Li Fengyi catches Zhao Huan's eye.

On the day she is named a consort, the sky is clear for miles, and Li Fengyi finally sees a glimmer of hope.

But just as she steps through the palace gates, news of victory arrives.

The army has reached the city, and the one leading it home is...

Her stepbrother, Yan Xingzhi.
