Dual purity, both physically and emotionally. (I want to write a truly unhinged male lead and watch him and the heroine push and pull against each other. I've decided to give it a try with this book.)
Perspective One:
To get home, Li Ruohuan must win over the second male lead in A Cliched Unrequited Love Story, while also taking responsibility for filling in the plot holes.
The second male lead, Wei Ning, is a sickly young man known as a "black-hearted lotus." Li Ruohuan affectionately calls him "Little Psycho."
Since the Little Psycho was born without a thread of affection and was blacker inside than a sesame seed, Li Ruohuan's mission was a grueling one.
In a perilous secret realm, Li Ruohuan gave him her protective magical artifact to keep him safe. She never expected the Little Psycho to shove her into the Ten Thousand Demons Cavern without a word, then turn around and run off.
She nearly died while trying to retrieve the Little Psycho's thread of affection, but when Li Ruohuan finally placed it in his hands, he said:
"Something as useless as a thread of affection is probably only liked by a loser like you."
With that, he crushed the thread of affection in his hand to dust and scattered it without hesitation.
Li Ruohuan realized that the saying "constant dripping wears away stone" and the idea that "an iron pestle can be ground into a needle" were all empty words. You couldn't melt a frozen heart by sheer persistence if the person wasn't worth it.
From then on, all her romantic feelings became a thing of the past. Going home was her only goal.
The worse Wei Ning treated her, the better Li Ruohuan treated him. She didn't care if others called her a "desperate girl" or a "simp." She had only one purpose: tame Wei Ning and go home.
Perhaps the heavens finally took pity on her. As Li Ruohuan's affection for him gradually faded and she grew increasingly impatient, the Little Psycho's gaze grew more passionate by the day.
In the end, on the night they were married, a voice rang out in her mind, announcing that his favorability had reached one hundred percent.
She still had six months before she could go home, but Li Ruohuan didn't want to spend another moment with Wei Ning. Under his horrified gaze, she slit her own throat and faked her death.
Afterward, the cultivation world gained a madman who roamed everywhere searching for his wife.
Perspective Two
.
Wei Ning was the eldest son of the Wei family. His ancestors had been doctors for generations and had never involved themselves in the affairs of the cultivation world.
Unfortunately, Wei Ning was a mortal born with a chaotic constitution, commonly known as a "cultivation furnace" physique. It was like a child carrying gold through a crowded marketplace.
No matter how cautious the Wei family was, they couldn't prevent disaster from striking. When Wei Ning was twelve, a rogue cultivator slaughtered his entire family, and he was forced to serve as the cultivator's medicinal test subject for five years.
He thought his life was over, until one day a girl broke through the heavy iron door, came toward him bathed in light, and reached out to pull him from the darkness.
From then on, light finally entered Wei Ning's life. Li Ruohuan was the first ray of light he ever touched, and the most special one.
That was why, when he heard that the girl had only come to win him over, Wei Ning became so deranged. He made himself look wretched and covered himself in wounds, debasing himself in the mud, all to beg for a little of her pity.
Yet no matter how much he did, Li Ruohuan only ever looked at him with indifference, no different from how she looked at anyone else. No, it was more like she was looking at a dog wagging its tail and begging.

Content warnings:
1. The male lead has no thread of affection at first and is genuinely a psycho. He's the type who acts gentle to your face and stabs you in the back. He recklessly courts death early on, then desperately pursues his wife later, crawling through the shadows in his desperate quest for love until he turns into a lovesick fool.
2. The heroine has some affection for the male lead at first, but it's only a passing fondness. Later, she treats him like a fictional character, a big bad wolf to win over and tame.
3. A legendary groveling arc. Please move on if you can't handle it.
