The Concubine's Daughter Lies Flat

Rong Jin transmigrates into the second daughter of the Rong family in Xuzhou. The original girl was lovely and delicate, sweet and charming as a child. Her father was demoted and sent to the northwest, and her mother died young. She grew increasingly withdrawn and stubborn, until a proper young man appeared...

Prince Qin Zhao Heng, the third prince of the current dynasty, had been doted on since childhood. He was upright and virtuous, until his mother consort died suddenly and the truth hidden behind the splendor came to light. The once-gentle gentleman became bloodthirsty and sinister...

A little scene:

Rong Jin is targeted by thugs and flees into an alley, where she sees Zhao Heng carrying some woksi candy. She steels herself and snatches it.

"Miss, if you want some, I can share half with you." Young Zhao Heng politely keeps an arm's length between them.

"N-no, I'm not giving it back..." Rong Jin says, working up her courage.

Zhao Heng: "..." It was the first time he'd seen someone steal something and act as if it were perfectly natural.

Later, Zhao Heng's mother consort dies suddenly. After several assassination attempts, he lies severely wounded by the roadside, utterly despairing.

A sweet voice says, "Hey, wake up... I'll give you back your woksi candy..."

He turns his head coldly. Hah, he stopped eating woksi candy long ago.
