Lu Ming is a sword cultivator, but not a particularly talented one. After years of arduous cultivation, he has only reached Foundation Establishment and hasn't grasped the heart of the sword at all.
But people love him. They love him obsessively. They break his sword, shatter his bones, and cover themselves in his blood as they tell him they love him.
Lu Ming is locked inside.
"You don't need to practice the sword."
"You're just a useless person who will never be able to cultivate, no matter what."
"You have no heart of the sword."
Over and over, they tear at Lu Ming's soul, speaking of their love. Their love is lofty and superior, while all Lu Ming needs to do is endure it.
"Lu Ming, you love me."
The person kneeling before him begs, then maliciously grabs him by the throat, baring their obsessive, twisted love.
Lu Ming is exhausted. He thinks of his name: Lu Ming, Lu Ming. Silent until he makes a name for himself... His wings have been broken. He can no longer fly or cry out.
Lu Ming dies.
Then he lives again.
