As the number-one contrarian, Wu Shiliu is best at talking people into going west when they want to go east. While everyone else eats, he goes clubbing.
One day... Wu Shiliu, who had been called an "oddity" ever since childhood, nearly died after staying up all night at the computer. Instead, he got trapped in a horror game.

Wu Shiliu: wcnm*******
The game pairs players with random dreams and their sources of fear, putting them through dungeon-style instances. These immersive, Cthulhu-esque dreamscapes will keep you coming back for more~
For Wu Shiliu, though, this dream within a dream has gone beyond what the term originally meant.
He met a group of freaks who, like him, were "oddities."
"Put simply, the term 'new species' means oddities," Wu Shiliu said in a speech during one of the instances. "But new species have the right to live, too. They can live better lives."
"It's good to be alive."
"Come on, let's go eat hot pot together."
A game puppet in the dream as the gong * a new-species shou with bipolar disorder
A completely fictional setting, with original worldbuilding inspired by Lovecraftian supernatural fiction. No tabletop roleplaying, character cards, or roleplaying, because I don't want to write those (said in one breath).
This story has plenty of potential triggers, so please mind the tags: 1. This is not a collection of random musings! Not random musings! Not random musings!
2. The gong and shou are very different. The gong is a stunning god inside the game, while the shou suffers from depression and bipolar disorder (?).
3. Updates are slow, so please understand. Spare a thought for a student, okay?
4. A very old-fashioned guild story.
5. The shou is overpowered (?).
6. The shou is universally adored. Please leave if you can't accept that.
7. This story has lots of potential triggers. Read if you like, but there's no pressure. The gong barely appears early on, only showing up through dreamworld avatars.
8. Please don't insult me or bash the story. You can criticize me, of course, but please don't do it to my face, or I'll fight back. Thank you. But I sincerely welcome comments and suggestions.jpg (sincere face).
9. This story may conflict with or differ from the usual infinite-flow conventions of many other novels, and my writing may not do the characters justice. If you don't like it, please don't bash it. As I said, criticism is fine, but please don't insult the story.
10. Theme: A new species' rags-to-riches story.
The author's values do not represent the values of the story, thank you.
Welcome!
Theme: A new species makes a fortune. Wu: No money? Then get lost.
