Walking Alone in the Apocalypse

[On hiatus...]

If you ask what happened to the world,

I can only say I don't know. It seems the sky has fallen.

When Zong Xiang wakes again amid the falling sky, all she sees is devastation and ruins everywhere.

Yet all she can do is float in the air, helpless before the people crying out in anguish, watching them die one by one from their grievous injuries.

After another failed attempt to touch them, Zong Xiang holds her hand out in midair and freezes.

Zong Xiang: ...?

When time starts moving again, Zong Xiang comes to her senses and looks toward the sounds in the distance. There she sees a scene that should exist only in fantasy.

A fearsome dragon soars through the sky;

Elegant elves leap through the forest;

Jovial dwarves swing their hammers;

Cunning goblins roam underground...

When Zong Xiang sees a human survivor again, she immediately floats in front of them, blocking their vacant eyes.

Her voice trembles with hope:

Can you see me?
