Shou: Yu Huaqing, a true third-generation cultivator of the Lingxian Sect, dreams of happily traveling everywhere.
Gong 1: Ye Tianqi, young clan leader of a prominent family, shouldering the heavy responsibilities of his clan.
Gong 2: Jiang Wan, the junior apprentice brother who is always late to everything.
Because of what he went through as a child, Yu Huaqing has no great ambitions. He just wants to live a healthy, happy life.
His father, grandfather, and great-grandfather all say that's fine. They'll protect him.
But unfortunately, he has an unusual supernatural ability and dual Water and Fire spiritual roots. If he doesn't cultivate properly, his inner energies will become unbalanced, and he'll either die from chaotic meridians or explode. Even carefree fun is out of the question, so he's forced to work hard.
By the time he finally finds a way to get rid of one of his spiritual roots, his reputation has already spread, and he has no choice but to keep pushing himself.
Fortunately, he meets Ye Tianqi, the young clan leader of a prominent family. Disciplined, powerful, and strong-willed, Ye Tianqi plans everything he does. The two gradually find themselves drawn to each other and go through many trials together. But Ye Tianqi's powerful clan, along with certain uncontrollable factors, eventually separates them from Yuanyuan. What will become of the two of them in the end?
Jiang Wan is Yu Huaqing's childhood friend. Back then, just like his name suggests, he was always a step behind: a step late in meeting Huaqing, a step late in becoming his junior apprentice brother, a step late in going on adventures with his senior apprentice brother, and so on...
Will he be a step late in the end, too?
Yu Huaqing is not someone who wavers. When he loves someone, he gives them his whole heart. When he doesn't, he cuts things off decisively, without giving the other person the slightest bit of hope.
This story is told mostly from Yu Huaqing's perspective.
Theme: It's good to keep a low profile, but having the strength to back yourself up is what matters most.
