Delay

These are two lines I saw online in January.

Opening: "Promise me, okay? When we grow up, we'll become police officers together."

Ending: "Hold your gun steady. Your big brother's getting you a first-class merit award."

I loved them so much, but couldn't find a story to read, so I decided to write one myself.

A few things to know before reading:

1. Bad ending. There's no way this ending could be happy...

2. I know very little about investigating cases, so I made everything completely fictional. Please don't relate it to real life at all. Everything serves the story.

3. I can't judge what counts as a major trigger, so please check for yourself. If anything makes you uncomfortable, stop reading right away.

4. Every character has their own reasons for what they do. The author's values are sound, so please don't make it personal.

5. That's about it. This is my first time writing this kind of story, so criticism and suggestions are welcome. ("^▽^")
