Mu Yunge is a notorious Demon Venerable. They say she kills and burns for fun, cuts out cores and steals treasures simply because she's never seen them before, and carves out people's heart's blood to make tea, only to complain that it tastes bad. She's utterly wicked, and every righteous sect wants her dead.
Despite this infamous reputation, she has spent hundreds of years roaming the world and throwing her weight around, and somehow no one has managed to kill her.
Mu Yunge finally grabbed a talisman cultivator to tell her fortune. But the little Daoist had not mastered his craft and could only divine marriages. After trembling through the reading, he declared that she was destined to have no children and to marry three times.
Mu Yunge laughed when she heard that.
Having no children seemed plausible. She had no interest in men at all. But marrying three times...
She had never met anyone who would dare become her cultivation partner. Weren't they afraid she'd turn around and kill them to prove her Dao?
But then, as soon as she stepped outside, she ran into a dizzy little sword cultivator who mistook her for someone else, eagerly begged her to take her as a disciple, and wouldn't leave no matter how hard Mu Yunge tried to chase her off.
With a long journey ahead and nothing to do, Mu Yunge saw how sincere the girl was and decided to go along with the mistake, becoming her master at no cost.
She just hadn't expected this rebellious disciple to be full of tricks. Despite her considerable cultivation, she insisted on pretending to be a clueless sweetheart.
Mu Yunge asked why she wanted to become a disciple despite already having a teacher.
Sui Jian blushed. "Because all the stories say that you have to become a master's disciple before you can become their cultivation partner. I really... have admired you for a long time..."
Mu Yunge laughed. The girl claimed that a glimpse of her years ago had stolen her heart, but she couldn't even recognize what her beloved looked like. She was staring at Mu Yunge's face and calling her by the name of her sworn enemy. Well, then, Mu Yunge would trick her into giving up her body, then her heart, and finally abandon her without mercy.
But Mu Yunge had not expected that, for all her boasts of having been through countless romances, she would end up shipwrecked in a hidden shoal, not once but three times with the same person.

Sui Jian picked up a bird's egg that had absorbed the spiritual energy of heaven and earth. She treasured it, keeping it tucked against her every day. Mu Yunge looked down on her for being so poor and shabby, pinned her to the bed, and deliberately teased her with intimate caresses.
Mu Yunge: "Nourish this egg with spiritual energy. One day, the spirit inside might hatch. Then you can say you gave your master a child."
Sui Jian: Blushing, resisting, denying it, and clutching the egg tighter.

The day the Three Realms joined forces to wipe out the Demon Domain, Sui Jian charged at the front with her sword, killing until her eyes ran red.
Outside the Demon Venerable's bedchamber, Sui Jian heard a childish voice from within ask, "Mother, the formation is broken and our home is gone. What should we do?"
The person she had longed for day and night, and wanted to devour alive, laughed and said, "Don't be afraid. Their leader and I go way back. We performed the marriage rites two hundred years ago. When you see her, just call her Mother."
Sui Jian kicked the door open and strode in. The two people, one big and one small, looked up at her.
The Demon Venerable's eyes sparkled. "Wifey~"
The little girl, with a tuft of yellow-green feathers on her head, echoed, "Wifey."
The Demon Venerable poked her, and the little girl immediately changed her answer. "Mother."
